KB Shimmer Cocoa Nut

Hello lovelies! Today I have a gorgeous polish to show you from KB Shimmer's holiday collection. Cocoa Nut is full of tons of small hot pink glitters and silvery/gold/holo microglitter in a warm brown base. According to KB Shimmer, it was inspired by "chocolate truffles filled with raspberries" -- definitely making me crave some Christmas candy now :) This polish is super beautiful, check it out!

2 coats KB Shimmer Cocoa Nut
1 coat OPI Topcoat
1 coat Seche Vite

As I've said before I'm currently having a bit of a love affair with brown polishes, so this was right up my alley! And even though I don't wear pink polish hardly ever anymore, pink is actually my favorite color... so I really loved the pink glitter -- gives me some pink that isn't too pink, haha. Application was amazing; I was kind of expecting it to be thick and difficult to work with but it went on like butter in just two easy coats, which was great! A beautiful, easy-to-apply polish is always awesome in my book :)

Jindie Nails Blue Blue X-mas

Hey guys! Today I have another gorgeous holo polish from Jindie Nails for you! Blue Blue X-mas is a bright blue linear holo, in the same vein as Mrs. Claws. It is super beautiful! I adore holos, especially purple and blue, so I have quite a few of them, but none quite like this! It's very vibrant, which I love. It was also really easy to apply, which is actually why I grabbed it today when I was in a rush to get a quick mani done. No special holo polish preparation (aqua base/buffing/etc) is necessary; it goes on flawlessly in two coats without streaks, and is still insanely holo with topcoat. Perfect polish, in my opinion :) Check it out!

The only flaw in this polish (or at least Mrs. Claws, anyway, and I assume they will work the same, although it hasn't happened yet with this mani) is that it did chip quite a bit just within the first 24 hours of wear. This is characteristic of most holos though (not sure why, if it has something to do with the holo particles or something) so I honestly expected it and wasn't too bothered. Of course, it would be nice if something this blindingly gorgeous would wear forever :) So beautiful though -- absolutely worth it!

Pop Culture Cosmetics Five Golden Rings + Zoya Ziv

Hey guys! Today I have for you an awesomely blingtastic gold mani for you. Pop Culture Cosmetics is a new brand I found on Etsy recently, and they really have a lot of great polishes! For this mani I used Five Golden Rings, a mix of tons of gold holo hexes/bars/microglitter in a sheer shimmery gold base. Since it is pretty sheer, I used it over Zoya Ziv, which as I'm sure you know by now is a sparkly gold foil. This two went perfectly together and the effect was some serious bling. Check it out!

1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
2 coats Zoya Ziv
2 coats Pop Culture Cosmetics Five Golden Rings
1 coat OPI Topcoat
1 coat Seche Vite

I love how sparkly this is! Since all the glitter is holo, at any given moment there will be at least a couple catching the light just right and throwing rainbows all over the place, which I LOVE. The only thing that confuses me about this mani is that it looks kind of bumpy for some reason (it is totally glassy and smooth to the touch, though) which I suspect might have to do with the way the foil finish of Ziv mixes with Five Golden Ring's microglitter, especially since Ziv has some random microglitter of its own. Still, it is so pretty and sparkly that it doesn't bother me too much :)

Daily Lacquer Buddy

Hey guys! Today I have another adorable polish for you from Daily Lacquer. Buddy is a mix of tons of gold (some holo!) hexes, shards, stars, and microglitter and some green hexes, all in a grassy green base. I used it over China Glaze Starboard but I am sure it could get to opacity on its own. It's quite pretty, take a look!

1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
1 coat China Glaze Starboard
2 coats Daily Lacquer Buddy
1 coat Seche Vite
1 coat OPI Topcoat
1 coat Seche Vite

I don't always love green on me, but this is one of my favorite shades when I do it! The green and gold go together really well. I love the star glitters, and the shards added a nice touch. Application was good; stars weren't hard to get out, I anticipated it would be bumpy so I went with the extra topcoat, but that's not a problem to me. I love the twinkly holo hexes :) Overall very pretty!

Lacquer Lust Nice To Be Naughty + Giveaway Winner!

Hey guys! Before we get to today's mani I wanted to announce that the winner of my giveaway is Megan Ramsey! I wanted to display it on the widget but Rafflecopter currently won't let me, which is weird. I have emailed Megan and she has 48 hours to respond, after which I will pick another winner. I want to once more welcome all my new followers and thank everyone who entered my very first giveaway -- you guys all rock! ♥

Today I have another pretty polish from Lacquer Lust. I waited a bit to share it because this one is another Christmas polish, yay! Nice To Be Naughty is full of small red square, small holo light green hexes, and some very faint microshimmer in a milky white base. I don't know if I've outright said it yet, but I really love milky white base polishes! They might not always be the easiest to work with or the most flattering, but I find that they are so pretty and interesting that I don't care, haha. Nice To Be Naughty was actually very easy to apply, though! It builded really well with no bald spots. Like the last Lacquer Lust polish I reviewed, the glitter did sink to the bottom of the bottle a bit -- I had to shake it to get enough glitter out, and this did result in less glitter on the nail than some similar polishes. However, even with the extra effort, I do like the effect of the scattered glitter on the nail, it looks nice :) Check it out!

 On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
3 coats Lacquer Lust Nice To Be Naughty
1 coat Seche Vite

It is hard to see the holo of the green glitter in the pictures (I imagine if it's covered by the milky base at all that dulls the effect) but I really love when the light catches them just so and makes it sparkle :) I am loving all my Christmas manis so far and am excited to continue sharing them with you guys... hope you all like Christmas manis too because I got a ton of them planned up through Christmas :)

Jindie Nails Mrs. Claws

Hey guys! First of all, I wanted to thank everyone for participating in my giveaway :) I really appreciate each and everyone of you for visiting my little blog, so I'm happy I was able to do something to give back! My computer access is still a little off since I am still visiting home, so I will announce the winner tomorrow!

Today I have for you Jindie Nails Mrs. Claws, a fantastic dark pink (verging on purple almost) linear holo! I was in a hurry to get a mani done before dinner and needed something that would be quick and flawless-- and I picked right! This polish went on perfectly, no special aqua base or prep needed, and didn't diminish under top coat, either -- the way all holos should be, in my opinion :) There is really nothing else to say; I'll let the pictures do the talking!

This polish is positively breathtaking :) I love how vibrant it is in low light, even -- it really is one of the nicer linear holos I've ever used, including some of those big name brands that focus on holos! So far it is holding up really well, also, unlike some holos I've used in the past that literally flake off within hours. I'm thrilled with it, and can't wait to try the blue one I bought too!

Daily Lacquer Swirly Twirly Gumdrops + Zoya Storm

Hey guys! Starting from today, expect lots of Christmas and winter manis! Hope you're excited, because I sure am! This is definitely my favorite time of the year, and I am thrilled to display that on my nails :) Today I have for you a super cute polish from a new indie brand Daily Lacquer. When I saw Daily Lacquer pop up on Etsy I knew I had to have them on my nails -- all the colors are so bright and adorable, just the way I like it! The owner Maggy was sweet enough to include a couple minis from her holiday collection to share with you guys -- today I have for you Swirly Twirly Gumdrops. This title makes me laugh, because if anyone has seen Elf, the movie this collection is based on, you will remember the story of Buddy's journey that he tells over and over and over again... :) a really cute movie, I definitely recommend it! Swirly Twirly Gumdrops is full of red, blue, teal, and lavender medium hexes, large white hexes, and tons of teal/gold iridescent microglitter. It's really bright and colorful, so I wanted to layer it over something dark to really show it off. I picked Zoya Storm, the black holo from the new holiday collection, and hands down the best black holo I own. I adore both these polishes and love the way they looked together, check it out!

On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
2 coats Zoya Storm
1 coat Seche Vite
2 coats Daily Lacquer Swirly Twirly Gumdrops
2 coats Seche Vite

I actually wore Storm for awhile before I put on the glitter because it is so lovely by itself (hence the extra middle coat of Seche), but I wasn't able to get any pictures unfortunately. I was worried that the microglitter of Swirly Twirly Gumdrops might overpower the holo of Storm, but it still pops nicely in the sun I think! Swirly Twirly Gumdrops itself was pretty nice to apply -- I didn't get any white hexes the first coat, but they came out easily, no fishing require the second one! They all laid pretty flat and while I did dab a little to place the glitter the way I wanted, it applied pretty well. A little bumpy, but with so many large glitters that is to be expected, so it didn't bother me too much -- just use your extra topcoat, and all is well. I loved both these polishes and I am so excited to try more of both -- the rest of the Zoya holiday collection as well as more Daily Lacquer polishes! Can't wait! :)

Thanksgiving Mani! Glimmer by Erica Spicy Pumpkin + Cirque Colors French Roast

Hey guys! Today I have for you my Thanksgiving mani :) I wanted to post it yesterday, but my laptop was acting a bit wonky so I had to wait until today. I wanted something reflective of fall, with all the beautiful warm colors and such, so went with a base of Cirque Colors French Roast, which is a gorgeous warm brown full of coppery gold microglitter. I love this polish! But I am really into browns lately, so I guess that is expected, haha. To top it off, I used Glimmer by Erica Spicy Pumpkin, which is full of orange, red, brown, and burgundy glitters in a clear base. These polishes really went well together, check it out!

On my nails:
2 coats Orly Nail Armor
3 coats Cirque Colors French Roast
1 coat Glimmer by Erica Spicy Pumpkin
1 coat Seche Vite

Back to super-nubbins for me.. I currently have no breaks, though, just really short nails, so that is good. I also am trying to use a more protective base coat than my peel-off one, though I have forgotten just how much of a nuisance regular glitter removal is, so we will see how long that lasts, haha. I really loved this mani though, it was super pretty! And now it is officially time for Christmas manis, hurray! Stay tuned for that, I have a ton lined up :)

MmmmNails Swatches and Review Part Three

Hey guys! Today is my last review of MmmmNails polishes. More glitter for today, which is fine by me -- never too much glitter! :)

left to right: Quick Bite, Nibble Yum, Cupcake Party, Be a Lil Naughty

All swatches are no base coat, two-three coats of base color, two coats of glitter, one coat of OPI Topcoat

Quick Bite is a mix of bright blue shards/tiny bars and small green hexes in a blue-tinted base. I layered it over Zoya Robyn, a bright sky blue creme. Personally, while I love larger bar glitters, the smaller ones aren't my favorite, but this was a pretty color combo! Robyn is one of my favorite blues, and they look really nice together.

Nibble Yum is full of lovely lavender holo microglitter in a clear base. I layered it over Orly Lollipop, a lavender creme. I loved these two together, and I LOVE the holo! This one is adorable, delicate, and very pretty. :)

Cupcake Party is a gorgeous mix of tons of silver and iridescent microglitter, tons of multi-colored small and large hexes (purple, pink, gold, blue, green, silver, and probably more!) all in a purple base. I layered it over LA Colors Color Craze Metallic Purple. This one is so, so pretty! I love all the accent glitters; it really is like a party :)

Be a Lil Naughty is a mix of red satin hexes and squares in a variety of sizes and red microglitter in a red-tinted base. I layered it over China Glaze Phat Santa, a deep red creme. Red isn't always my favorite, but I liked the satin glitters in this one :)

I hope everyone enjoyed these swatches over the past few days! I was really impressed with these polishes -- they all had great formula, a lot of them were super unique, and they were all super gorgeous! From this batch, I adored Cupcake Party and Nibble Yum. Let me know your favorites! :)

MmmmNails Swatches and Review Part Two

Hi guys! Today I'm continuing my review of MmmmNails polishes. Today we have some glitters, yay! :)

left to right: Apple Licorice, Paradise Cocktail, Sunshine
All swatches are no base coat, two coats of base color, two coats of glitter, one coat of OPI Topcoat

Apple Licorice is a mix of silver/light blue/black microglitter/bars, pale gold/light blue small hexes, large light blue hexes, and silver stars in an olive green-tinted base. I layered it over China Glaze Starboard, a medium green creme. This was a pretty one! The stars were pretty abundant, which is always great :)

outdoors, shade
outdoors, sun
Paradise Cocktail is a mix of various shades of green/white satin medium hexes, small darker pink squares and medium size lighter pink squares, white bars, and pale green microglitter, in a lime green-tinted base. I wore it over Zoya Tracie, a pistachio green shimmer. This one is really pretty as well -- they are all pretty! -- and I really like how the green glitters blend with the base, it's an interesting effect. The pink squares are lovely, too :)

outdoors, sun
indoors, natural light

Sunshine is a mix of bright turquoise matte hexes, shiny gold hexes and squares in various sizes, small satin white squares, and turquoise microglitters in a yellow-tinted base. I layered it over China Glaze Jolly Holly, a dark green shimmer. This combo was really gorgeous! I love the gold and turquoise against the dark green. Also, it is important to note that there was no curling issues with the glitter-- if you look at my ring finger, there is a large gold square, and it is lying perfectly flat against my nail! There might be some reflective curling going on, but every single glitter, even the big ones, were perfectly well-behaved :)

outdoors, sun
indoors, natural light
I really liked all of these! My favorite was definitely Sunshine, just because against that dark green shimmer it was to die for :) They all were great formula, too -- maybe a touch thick, but they applied great and none of the glitters were difficult to work with! What's your favorite?

MmmmNails Swatches and Review Part One

Hi guys! The next few posts are going to be swatches and reviews of 10 polishes from a new indie brand, MmmmNail! I really was impressed with these polishes, so I hope you enjoy! :)

left to right: Jamaican Spice, Cheat Day, Candy Burst

All swatches are two coats with no base or top coat~

Jamaican Spice is a really lovely coppery color full of gold and pink shimmer. If you zoom in on the pictures you can see the gorgeous shimmer really well. This shade reminds me of cinnamon; perfect for fall!

Cheat Day is a yellow-gold shimmer with a pale pink duochrome shift. At least, I think so :) It is so unique that it is a bit hard to describe, but I was really amazed by the effect! This is a really pretty color, and I really love the pink shift. It possibly has some more colors in there; at times it looks a touch blue-green, but it is hard to tell if that is really color shift or just reflection. Either way, it's gorgeous!

Candy Burst is a blue-toned hot pink with purple-y shimmer. It's maybe not ultra-unique, but it is very pretty :)

All of these polishes had really great formula! They glided on really nicely, and had great opacity after just two coats. Out of this batch, Cheat Day is definitely my favorite -- never seen anything like it! What's your favorite?
