Neon Pink Leopard Mani

Hey guys! I have noticed that a lot of you have expressed an interest in seeing more nail art for my giveaway question (which, by the way, ends in about 4 1/2 hours... enter if you haven't already!). I don't do much nail art usually, since I tend to stick with the glitters, so I'm not all that great at it... it really is fun though, and I will definitely try to keep getting better! Today I have a fun, simple leopard print mani to share with you. I used China Glaze Love's A Beach, a hot pink shimmery neon, and then I used my dotting tool to carefully paint Cult Nails Tempest, a white creme, and Nevermore, a black creme, on in a leopard print. Take a look!

On my nails:
1 coat Nail Tek III Protection Plus
2 coats China Glaze Life's A Beach
(dotted) Cult Nails Nevermore and Tempest
1 coat Cult Nails Wicked Fast

If you haven't done this before it is really easy -- just use your spot color (white here) to glob on some irregular-shaped spots, then outline with your other color (black here). The best way to make it look leopard-y is to not do a full circle, do like a half-moon and then another dot. Also, you can fill extra space with a few stand-alone dots.

I hope you liked this nail art attempt, it was really fun, insanely bright, and got a lot of attention! I will definitely be trying more leopard-prints (and nail art in general) again soon :)

Color Club Halo Hues Rainbow Dotticure

Hey guys! Today I have a really fun mani  to share with you! As you all know I don't do nail art much, but I do occasionally get inspired -- especially ever since I learned how to use my dotting tool, haha. This time around I decided to attempt a rainbow dotticure using the gorgeous Color Club Halo Hues that I got recently. I started with a base of Beyond, a black holo, and then did a line of dots each in Miss Bliss, a bright reddish pink holo, Kismet, a gold-ish lime green holo, Angel Kiss, a aqua teal-ish holo, Over The Moon, a bright sky blue holo, and finally Eternal Beauty, a vibrant medium purple holo. I adore how it turned out, take a look!

I just love this mani so much! It's pretty obvious, I think, that I love rainbows, so I adore getting the chance to do rainbow manis from time to time :) My dotting was a little messy here, but since it was really only my third dotting attempt, I am overall pretty pleased with it. And of course, the Halo Hues are magical - can't wait to use them some more! If only the weather would cooperate (it snowed here yesterday, can you believe it!) and the sun came out to play more, I would have a hard time not wearing holos everyday!

Cult Nails Feelin' Froggy + CND Raspberry Sparkle, Mattefied

Hey guys! Today I have a fun layering combo that I have wanted to try for awhile to share with you guys. Back before I began the whole "polish obsession" I really wanted a green polish with pink shimmer, but couldn't find one (of course who knows, there might be one, but I didn't really know how to look). Of course, turns out it is easier to just use a couple polishes to create the look on my own! I started out with Cult Nails Feelin' Froggy, a delightful grassy green with a ton of shimmer packed into it. I adore this polish on its own, by the way -- such the perfect shade of green I think! I then layered CND Raspberry Sparkle over it to get my sparkly pink fix. Finally, I decided to turn the mani matte with China Glaze Matte Magic, my go-to matte topcoat. Take a look!

I love how it turned out! The perfect pink and green mani to me :) I'm glad that I was able to finally make one of my "dream manis" come to life!

Enchanted Polish Daydream Surprise and Lacquer Lust Pow Chica Wow Wow

Hey guys! Today I have a really pretty mani for you that I wore awhile back. I started out with Lacquer Lust Pow Chica Wow Wow, a bright blue holo. I then layered over it Enchanted Polish Daydream Surprise, a clear shimmery base glitter mix full of various turquoise, red, blue, and purple small and microglitters in hexes and squares, and orange and silvery bars. A lot going in this glitter mix; very very pretty! The combo went perfectly together, I think - take a look!

Here are a few shots of Pow Chica Wow Wow on its own, since it is very pretty :)

I love the contrast in this mani -- the bright glitters really pop against the blue base! So pretty. Pow Chica Wow Wow is such a bright shade of blue, also. Overall, adore this mani! :)

Rainbow Honey Pinkie Promise

Hey guys! I have so many Rainbow Honey polishes that I have never worn, much less posted, sitting in my untrieds box. They are all super cute so I don't really know why I've never gotten around to them! Just too much polish I guess :) Today I have Pinkie Promise to share with you. Pinkie Promise is a sheer shimmery pink and gold base with a mix of gold, pink, and aqua glitters in various hex sizes and bars. I layered it over Orly Lollipop, a pinkish lavender creme. Take a look!

2 coats Orly Lollipop

2 coats KB Shimmer Clearly On Top

So pretty! I love that abundant shimmer, and I love the way the pink base of the glitter mixes with the creme base color. Like I said, all those Rainbow Honeys are just so cute... definitely need to get around to wearing the rest of them!

FNUG Psychedelic

Hey guys! I got FNUG Psychedelic awhile ago and had been waiting for the perfect sunny day to show it off and admire it, which finally came recently! As you might know, the FNUG holos are known as pretty crazy-intensely holo, and that certainly is a great way to describe Psychedelic, the silver holo of the bunch!

Not much else to say; the pictures speak for themselves :)

On my nails:
1 coat Nfu Oh Aqua Base
2 coats FNUG Psychedelic

Crazy rainbowtastic, yes? The wear was terrible on this one, but that is to be expected for holos like this. I imagine application would be difficult without the aqua base as well... but with holos like this, it's easy to forgive quibbles like those :) So pretty! Was definitely staring at my nails the entire day.

U-Neek Polish - Chiari Awareness and Sparkling Peach

Hey guys! I have another new brand to introduce you guys to today! U-Neek Polish has a lot of lovely shimmery polishes, and I was lucky enough to be sent two of them to share with you guys.

L to R: Chiari Awareness, Sparkling Peach

Chiari Awareness is a medium purple shimmer with light purple holo microglitter, super-fine holo sparkle, and black bar glitters. Such a gorgeous base color, I love the holo sparkle throughout! Application was pretty nice, it was a bit sheer but went on nice and even. If you don't love the bar glitters, they are pretty easily avoidable so you can just have the seriously beautiful purple sparkle. This polish is extra special because it was created by Janet to promote awareness for Chiari Malformation, a condition she was diagnosed with. I think this is such an amazing way to spread the word about a condition that a lot of people probably don't know about -- a sparkly version of a support wristband! To learn more about Chiari check out Janet's detailed description here.

On my nails:
3 coats U-Neek Polish Chiari Awareness
1 coat OPI Topcoat

outdoors, shade
outdoors, sun
Sparkling Peach is just that, a beautiful shimmery yellow-toned peach with small silver holo glitters scattered throughout. I will be honest, I thought I would hate this one at first, it seemed a bit too frosty and I didn't think the color would be very flattering. It turns out, I really love it! It is yellowy enough that it can almost read as a neutral, but the pretty shimmery glow makes it really special. Very pretty, very wearable, and not unbearably frosty as I thought it would be.

On my nails:
2 coats U-Neek Polish Sparkling Peach
1 coat OPI Topcoat

These two polishes really impressed me with their shimmery glow and nice application! I love the combo of the holo sparkle with the shimmer, it creates a really smooth elegant look I think. Definitely would love to try out more pretty U-Neek polishes in the future!

Sparkle Factor Lacquer Swatches and Review

Hey guys! I've got a new indie brand I'm excited to share with you today! Sparkle Factor Lacquer has a wide variety of different types of pretty polishes, and I recently was sent five of the pretties to review. Enjoy!

L to R, top to bottom: I've Got the Blues, Something Unexpected, Whimsical,
Sugar Mama, and Purple Haze
I've Got The Blues is a tinted blue base with various shades and sizes of holo blue glitter, including tons of blue and silvery microglitter and large blue hexes. The glitter is very dense in this one, so coupled with the tinted base, this one reaches pretty decent opacity in just two easily applied coats! It definitely sucked up topcoat, but super pretty, vibrant color!

On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
2 coats Sparkle Factor Lacquer
2 coats KB Shimmer Clearly On Top

outdoors, shade
outdoors, sun
Something Unexpected is a clear base full of mostly small pastel hexes in various shades like pink, lavender, and pale green, small silver bars and some medium and large holo hexes in pastel shades as well. Very springy, this one! I really like the color mix, it is very delicate. And even though there are bars (which I know aren't for everyone) they are very small and unobtrusive, and go with the glitter well. I layered it over Orly Lollipop, a pinkish lavender creme (and probably my favorite Orly ever). Obviously not as dense as I've Got The Blues since it is clearly a glitter topper, but application was really nice and glitter spread across the nail nice and even.

On my nails:
2 coats Orly Lollipop
1 coat Sparkle Factor Lacquer Something Unexpected
1 coat OPI Topcoat

outdoors, shade
outdoors, sun
Whimsical is a clear base full of magenta, turquoise, and silver glitters, mostly in small squares and microglitter but some diamonds and larger squares in the mix also. I super-adore these shades of pink and blue together, so this is probably my favorite of the bunch. I layered it over Orly Frisky, a delightful light aqua creme. Application was just as like Something Unexpected, nice and easy.

On my nails:
2 coats Orly Frisky
1 coat Sparkle Factor Lacquer Whimsical
1 coat OPI Topcoat

outdoors, sun
Sugar Mama is a clear base full of tons of silver holo glitter, mostly tons of microglitter with some small bars, squares, and hexes and some large hexes. While it is definitely supposed to be a glitter topper, the microglitter is very, very dense in this one, so lots of of coverage! Application was still the same as the other two glitter toppers. To show off the silver sparkle, I layered it over Cult Nails Nevermore, my favorite black creme.

On my nails:
1 coat Cult Nails Nevermore
1 coat Sparkle Factor Lacquer Sugar Mama
1 coat OPI Topcoat

outdoors, shade
outdoors, sun
Lastly, Purple Haze is a clear-base with various pink and purple glitters, mostly microglitter, some small and large hexes and squares, some very tiny thin bars, and black microglitter. I was at first under the impression this one was closer to the consistency of I've Got The Blues, but I tested it on three coats by itself and it still wasn't quite full coverage. Great as a glitter topper though! I layered it over U-Neek Polish Chiari Awareness, a pretty purple shimmer (that I will be reviewing soon in its own post!).

On my nails:
3 coats U-Neek Polish Chiari Awareness
1 coat Sparkle Factor Lacquer Chiari Awareness
1 coat OPI Topcoat

outdoors, shade
outdoors, sun
I was really pleased with all of these polishes! The mix of glitters all went together really well, and I like that there was a variety of different types, like glitter toppers vs. more densely opaque ones like I've Got The Blues. Overall they were all really nice, with nice application, so I definitely recommend them! Super pretty :)

Lush Lacquer Neon Glitters Giveaway!

Hey guys! After a couple posts featuring the pretties, finally my Lush Lacquer Neon Glitters Giveaway is here! It's been a long time since I've done a giveaway, and my blog has grown quite a bit since the last one, both in viewership and (in my opinion) quality of posting. This giveaway is of course a big thank you to all who have stuck with me to this point as well as a big welcome to new and future readers ♥

yes, my bg is my Hello Kitty oven mitt! Thanks for asking♥

I did a poll awhile back and people said they preferred more smaller prizes instead of just one big one, so that's what I'm going to do here. There will be five prizes - full-size Blue Gypsy, Green Genie, I Lost My Marbles, Haywire, and Neon Lights - and a mini Clowning Around with each! I thought that way, winners could have one stand-alone polish and then the glitter topper to create as many looks as they wanted :)

So this giveaway will be going on for two weeks, ending at midnight on 4/29/2013 CDT (central US time), and it's open internationally! To enter, just follow directions in the Rafflecopter below. I think it should be pretty easy; there are a lot of options to get entries by connecting to all my fairly new social media pages, so people can get their Paint The Rainbows fix as many ways as they want :)

I think that's everything, but please comment and let me know if I forgot anything or you have a question!

Good luck! And have a lovely day♥

Lush Lacquer Neon Glitters - Haywire, I Lost My Marbles, and Clowning Around

Hey guys! Sorry for not posting for a few days, I have so many projects and tests going on right now, I'm doing good to even paint my nails at all -- and I've got some pretty manis to share, as soon as I get a chance to post them all! :) Today I have the other half of the Lush Lacquer neon glitters, and they are all just as pretty as the first three! And I will be giving these away -- check the bottom of this post for info, and the next post for the actual giveaway, hurray! :)

L to R, top to bottom: Haywire, I Lost My Marbles, Clowning Around

Haywire is a white crelly base with rainbow hexes in various sizes and short blue and orange bar glitters. It's probably no surprise to anyone (including myself) that this is my favorite of these three -- love those white-based polishes! Application is the same as the first three; nice coverage and glitter spread; 2 coats is mostly good but 3 helps to avoid any possible bald spots.

On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
3 coats Lush Lacquer Haywire
2 coats KB Shimmer Clearly On Top

outdoors, shade
outdoors, sun
I Lost My Marbles is a baby pink crelly base with rainbow glitter in various sizes of hexes. Very cute! I don't really love the way baby pink looks on my skin sometimes, but it is still very pretty! Same application as Haywire.

On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
3 coats Lush Lacquer Haywire
2 coats KB Shimmer Clearly On Top

outdoors, shade
outdoors, sun
Clowning Around is the only non-crelly of the bunch, a clear base packed with the pretty translucent rainbow hexes found in most of the other polishes of this collection. Those glitters are pretty sheer -- I tried layering it over black and they barely showed up, so that is something to keep in mind, though I actually really like it as it makes this polish exceptionally unique among my collection of rainbow glitter toppers. Here it shown layered over Cult Nails Charming, a delightful lavender with super-strong pink shimmer (not really present in these bummertastic overcast photos, since the weather was in flood-mode during this mani... I plan on posting it by itself someday, too pretty not to). Since there is no worrying about bald patches for a clear polish, I only used 2 coats of Clowning Around here and got a lot of glitter coverage out of it.

On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
3 coats Cult Nails Charming
2 coats Lush Lacquer Clowning Around
2 coats KB Shimmer Clearly On Top

outdoors, overcast
outdoors, shade
And that is that! I am really glad I got the entire collection, they are all so pretty and springy. I rarely get a chance to re-wear polishes since I can't re-post the same exact manis (gotta generate content for these posts, alas) but I just might have to for a couple... and I already have plans to use these on my toes so I can enjoy them all over again :)

Don't forget, I will be giving all of these pretties away! I don't want to just tack a giveaway onto the bottom of a post, so I will have more info and the Rafflecopter widget in my next post -- stay tuned!

Lush Lacquer Neon Glitters - Neon Lights, Blue Gypsy, and Green Genie

Hey guys! I'm excited to finally share some of these with you all! When I first laid eyes on the Lush Lacquer neon glitters line, I knew they were perfect for me. I'm big on milky crelly bases loaded with glitter, and neon is always super fun! I have the collection split into two posts... and I may love these so much that I want to share them with you guys *hint hint* so stay tuned! :)

L to R, top to bottom: Neon Lights, Blue Gypsy, Green Genie

Neon Lights is a white crelly base with neon yellow, orange, green and pink hexes in various sizes. I was super excited for this one, since I think the color combo is very pretty and summery (nice to dream of summer when snow(!) is still in the forecast in April), like a juicy fruit cocktail or something. It didn't let me down! I was really sad to take this one off, the white was especially flattering on my skin (coming from someone who adores all white polishes). Application was pretty good with minimal need to arrange glitters; just make sure to apply evenly to avoid a bald spot, which I find more tricky with white polishes.

On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
3 coats Lush Lacquer Neon Lights
2 coats KB Shimmer Clearly On Top

outdoors, shade
outdoors, sun
Blue Gypsy is a light blue crelly base with small blue and purple hexes, medium orange hexes, black stars, and large holo pink circles. I was a little wary of this one, because the color scheme wasn't quite my favorite. Couldn't resist those fun glitters though! The pink circles and stars were a touch tough to snag and place, which is why I ended up doing only two coats for this one -- didn't want to work so hard to get them on the nail and then cover them up! It worked mostly though, with a little dabbling extra base onto sort-of bald patches.

On my nails:1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
2 coats Lush Lacquer Blue Gypsy
2 coats KB Shimmer Clearly On Top

outdoors, shade
outdoors, sun
Green Genie is a light pistachio green crelly base with neon rainbow glitter in various sizes of hexes. Yay rainbow glitter! I found the base of this one especially flattering... I know my hands look terrible in these next two photos (again, blame the weather) but I found that the base of this one leaned just right enough towards.. yellow I guess? that my hands didn't go the way of the lobster. Really pretty base color -- like this one a lot! Similar application to Neon Lights.

On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
3 coats Lush Lacquer Green Genie
2 coats KB Shimmer Clearly On Top

outdoors, shade
outdoors, sun
These all had similar application -- 2-3 coats, easy glitter placement, a little rough so 2 coats of topcoat is probably best. So pretty though! I really love the neon glitter, it really pops and makes for a fun, interesting mani :)

Be sure to look for the other three neon glitter polishes from Lush Lacquer in my next post! And keep your eyes peeled... I might be giving away these pretties soon! :)
