Darling Diva Polish Ti Amo + L'Oreal The Queen's Ambition

Hey guys! Today I am excited to share with you one of the first indie polishes I bought way back before I was really into the indie scene at all (barely even into the polish scene, actually!). When I got this lovely Darling Diva Polish I figured it would be perfect to save for Valentine's Day, and I was definitely right on the money there :) Ti Amo is a pink-tinted base full of red and white hexes and hearts, white microglitter, and awesome great big squishy white glitter! The squishy white hearts are absolutely the reason this polish called out to me -- even now, I have never seen anything like them :) I wanted both the glitter colors to pop, so I layered over L'Oreal The Queen's Ambition, my favorite black with silver glitter. I adore how this one turned out!

2 coats LOreal The Queen's Ambition
2 coats Darling Diva Polish Ti Amo
1 coat Seche Vite

I just love those big white hearts! Of course, as you can imagine they were an ultra-pain to fish out of the bottle (and I totally gunked up the neck of the bottle trying, alas) but it was worth it, and I managed to find enough to have one each for my ring fingers and thumbs, hurray. They actually stuck down quite nicely with just the one coat of top coat, but after these pictures I ended up adding an extra coat of SV because some of the other glitters were still a little pokey. Such a cute polish! Glad I picked it up back when I did :)

Lynnderella Season's Glitterings + L'Oreal The Queen's Ambition

Hi guys! So I have to confess, I still have a few Christmas collection polishes I haven't even worn yet, much less shared... nothing too festive or anything (if not for the holiday-inspired names, no one would even know) but I want to get them taken care of before I transition into Valentine's Day polishes for sure. So today, I have the dazzling Lynnderella Season's Glitterings to show you! It is impossible to even begin to outline all the glitter packed into this polish -- basically holo rainbow glitter in every shape and size you can imagine (bars, hexes, giant squares, gold and silver stars and baby stars, among others most likely) mixed with a TON of silver microglitter. I love my rainbow glitters against black so I can appreciate them, so I layered it over L'Oreal The Queen's Ambition, my trusty black with its own silver microglitter. In hindsight, this may have caused a bit of a silver microglitter overload, haha... but it sure was sparkly! Check it out:

1 coat China Glaze Matte Magic

I couldn't resist mattefying it to see what would happen:

Insanely sparkly, this one! I'm not sure I have any other polishes that are all rainbow holo goodness like this, and then with all the shapes I have to say it's quite the fun polish. I almost wish there was a little less silver microglitter though, because it is a bit overpowering... in the last picture I have my thumb included to show off my favorite giant square glitter -- but there's so much microglitter it almost looks like I used a silver base! Probably the best way to go with this polish is to dab on 1 coat, so you don't get too much microglitter (unless you like it that way of course) while getting enough of the large rainbow glitters. Overall I adore this though! Too sparkly and colorful not to :)

Whooz Polish Pink Pirate + L'Oreal The Queen's Ambition

Hi guys! Before I get on with the polish for today I wanted to just take a second to see if anyone might have noticed anything different about my blog... like maybe the URL? :) If you haven't already seen it, paint the rainbows has recently moved to painttherainbows.com! My sister Jenny and brother-in-law Dan were nice enough to register the name for me for Christmas, which I am super excited about! One step in the right direction for my humble little blog -- hopefully the first of many great things to happen around here in 2013! Thanks again, guys, I love it :)

Today I have a new indie brand to share with you called Whooz Polish. I have seen them around on Etsy for a bit and thought they had such cute polishes - and labels! - and was super excited to get to review a few of their polishes, which I will be showing over the next few days :) Today's mani showcases Pink Pirate, which is a clear base full of light pink, white, and black small hexes, hot pink small squares, white and light pink microglitter, and medium white hexes and squares. I always have had a weakness for this mix of colors, so it is no surprise to me that I totally adore this polish :) I layered it over L'Oreal The Queen's Ambition, a black jelly with silver microglitter that is probably my new favoritest black polish (well, beyond black holos anyway). It reminds me of that absurdly expensive black diamond polish that people were talking about a while back... except not $250k, of course, haha. I really love how the silver microglitter played with Pink Pirate to create amazing depth! Check it out:

I was really pleased with Pink Pirate's application. The glitter went on really smoothly and spread perfectly evenly over the nail exactly the way I wanted to; no curling; and nice and smooth with just one coat of SV. I really like the way the colors go together, and the added depth of the abundant microglitter. Overall very happy with my first Whooz Polish experience and looking forward to trying out some more! :)
