Jenna Hipp for Costco: New Brights Collection Swatches & Review

Hello friends! Today I have the other new Jenna Hipp Costco set -- The Brights -- to share with you!

First up is Just One Bite, a warm red creme that leads just a touch orange. This is such a lovely bright, summer color! I used 3 coats here + topcoat.

Next up is Jenna and the Giant Peach, a peachy orange creme. It is more peachy than orange - the shade pictures shows the color better. I used 3 coats plus topcoat here.

Next up is Say Yellow to My Little Friend, a sunny yellow creme. I love this yellow! It is definitely pastel-leaning, but it isn't chalky or too white at all -- just the perfect yellow for me! This one was a little more streaky/sheer than the first two, which both had excellent formula, but still looked great in 3 coats and topcoat.

Next is We Are Mint To Be, a lovely bright minty creme. I used 2 coats here (and topcoat) -- it was super opaque, but upon viewing my pictures I would probably use a 3rd coat, because even though it is opaque you can still see my ridges, which I don't like. Great color though!

Next is I Surf With Boys, a teal/aqua blue creme. I used 2 coats and topcoat here as well -- but now that I look at pics I definitely should have used a 3rd, since it is a touch patchy. Another pretty one though! Reminds me a bit of China Glaze For Audrey or even Too Yacht to Handle.

Next is Ain't Life Grape?, a pinky purple creme. I love this kind of purple! I again only used 2 coats and topcoat here, but this time I don't think it turned out too patchy or ridgy at all -- weird. Won't complain about an excellent formula though!

Next is Daft Pink, a warm bright pink creme. It is warm-toned, but not nearly as much as my pictures suggest - it is definitely pink, not coral. Very pretty shade though, pretty much my favorite shade of pink, very summery! I used 3 coats and topcoat.

Last of all is I Put a Spell on Blue, a super dark navy jelly/creme. It definitely wasn't straight creme, but it wasn't quite as sheer and squishy as a jelly either -- and yet, I don't think crelly is the correct terminology either, lol. It had great formula though and was super shiny! I used 2 coats plus topcoat.

And that's that! Again, I was very happy with all of these polishes -- great formulas and lovely colors, what more could you want? (A great price, you say? Got that too! Only $8 for the entire set!) I would have to say that after playing with these two sets from Jenna Hipp, I definitely hope I get a chance to try more of her polishes in the future!

Elevation Polish SBP Luoxia Valley

Hello friends! I have lots of swatches in the works for you, but I am beat tonight so just a quick post will have to do. I recently participated in my first restock trying for the limited edition SBPs (small batch prototypes) over at Elevation Polish, and I was lucky enough to snag a couple (!!) one of which I will be sharing with you tonight. Luoxia Valley is a fuschia linear holograhic packed with multicolor microglitter. It looks pinkish in the bottle but leaned super purple on me -- which is fine, because pinky purple just so happens to be one of my favorite shades! Take a look.

So pretty! I just love how the microglitter pops in the shade! Formula was fantastic, but I would expect no less from Lulu -- I used 3 coats + 1 coat KB Shimmer Clearly On Top for my pictures, though I did add another topcoat a day later because of the added texture from the microglitter. Overall I am thrilled with my first SBP and definitely can't wait to try my hand at the next round ( gotta love the rush of those high-demand restocks, lol).

Jenna Hipp for Costco: New Moderns Collection Swatches & Review

Hello hello! Today I have a whole collection of pretties to share with you, hurray! If you guys have a membership at Costco you might have seen the new Jenna Hipp What's Hot Now sets and wondered if they were any good. Well, never fear, I am here to answer that question for you (hint: the answer is they are wonderful!) Today I'll share The New Moderns  -- be on the lookout for The Brights soon!

First up is Pinky Promise, a light pink creme. I love this color! I always love the classy, feminine look of light pink nails like this, but they usually have terrible formula so I don't always have the patience to create that look, lol. Not a problem here! Pinky Promise went on nice and smooth and was extraordinarily non-streaky considering how white it is. Three coats here with 1 coat KB Shimmer Clearly On Top topcoat.

Next is Pink Me, Pink Me! a sheer whitish pink creme. This one is more sheer and light than Pinky Promise -- reminds me a lot of the OPI Ballet polishes, almost crelly-ish. Even though it was kind of sheer (I used four coats with 1 coat topcoat here) it went on really well and wasn't really streaky at all. I really love this polish; so pretty and delicate!

Next up is Life is But a Cream, a creamy ivory/almond creme. This one was a little sheer but not as much as Pink Me -- only needed 3 coats plus 1 coat of topcoat. I really like this as an alternative to white or nude -- pops like white but isn't nearly as stark. Very pretty color!

Next is Ooh La Latte, a tan/taupe creme. This one was not sheer like the previous polishes -- only used 2 coats + 1 coat topcoat. I don't typically wear colors like this but it would make a great base for some nail art! And it definitely has a great formula.

Next, Better Slate Than Never is a dark grayish/eggplant purple with pink shimmer. I actually didn't realize this one had shimmer until I got it out in the sun -- what a pleasant surprise, super pretty! This would make a great fall/winter color. Formula was great also -- I used 3 coats here + 1 coat topcoat, but it was perfectly opaque at just 2.

Next up is Throwing Shade, a light grayish lilac creme. Great formula like the others -- like the last one, I used 3 coats + topcoat here, but 2 was just fine! No issues to report.

Next is Sherbetcha, a pinky peach creme. This one pulls more pink than my pictures show (the shade pic is probably more accurate in that sense, but it is even pinker than that -- still definitely peachy though). Great formula like the rest! Shown here is 3 coats + 1 coat topcoat.

Last up is This Is My Jam, a vampy deep reddish burgundy/wine jelly with the teensiest hint of hidden red shimmer. Gorgeous! I love vampy colors like this. Great formula like the rest, went on super shiny without topcoat since it is very jelly-ish, but I still did 3 coats + 1 coat topcoat.

I was super impressed with this pretties! I didn't know what to expect since I had never heard of the brand and they were fairly cheap (I think like only $8 for the set? My mom picked them up for me at Costco) so it was especially nice to discover how great their formulas were, how easy application was (I really liked the brush) and that the colors were really pretty. The Brights collection was just as good -- look forward to those swatches soon!

If you want to find this set check it out on Costco's website! (or just go to Costco, it's a wonderful place! Go early for free lunch -- I mean samples.)

Enchanted Polish May, June, July 2014 - Swatches & Review

Hello friends! As I am sure most of you know, Enchanted Polish has been releasing monthly polishes for like a year and a half now, and since January they have been mystery polishes -- don't know what they look like til you get them! Today I will be reviewing May 2014, June 2014, and July 2014. Since they were mystery polishes and I know some people like to not see them til they receive them, I kept the first picture spoiler-free -- but if you don't want to see them, please leave now - I don't want to ruin the surprise for you!

... but if you love spoilers (like me) please read on ;)

and I just re-watched this episode tonight! what a koinky-dink.
 ...and to the pretties!

left to right, up to down: June 2014, May 2014, July 2014

First up is May 2014. May is a bright orange linear holo with pink shimmer. It leans a bit burnt orange on me, though due to the pink shimmer can be a bit peachier in the shade, which is when the shimmer is most visible. This will be a great fall color! Two coats shown here with no topcoat.

Next up is June 2014. June is a warm purple linear holo multichrome that shifts pink and sometimes gold. I adore this polish, it is so pretty! The pink flash makes it especially glow-y and girly. Two easy coats, no topcoat, are shown below.

some gold-ish shift at the top of the nail and in the corner
of the bottle)
Finally, we have July 2014. July is a cherry red linear holo with blue shimmer. This one is a touch creamier and less holo than the other two, but still very pretty! Feels a little more autumn-y than summer, like May, though. Two easy coats again, with no topcoat.

And that is that! June is the clear winner in my book, but that shouldn't be a surprise since it is a purple, lol. They are all gorgeous though! Definitely looking forward to using the others in the fall.

These polishes were a one-time preorder, but if you love them and want them, you should definitely be able to find them in the Facebook polish sale groups or Storenvy pretty easily (and for not too much either)!

Cupcake Polish Dotticure

Hi friends! Today I have a colorful dotticure I wore recently to share with you. I started out with two coats of Enchanted Polish Dime Piece, a silver holo, and then did two accents on each hand in three coats each of Cupcake Polish Los Angeles, a bright pink holo, Denver, a lime green holo, and New York, a sky blue holo. Finally, I dotted on all the colors over the silver. Take a look~

outdoors, shade
I really adored this mani! I wore this probably close to a month back at this point. At the time I was still fairly new to the whole office environment for my internship and was kind of experimenting with what kind of nails I thought I could get away with at work -- but after no one batted an eye at this crazy colorful nail art, I totally gave up on the concept of "work-appropriate nails" and have since done all sorts of glitter and skittles and nail art and such, lol.
