Rainbow Honey Summer of 199X - Cremes

Hello! Over the next few days I will be sharing the beautiful new Rainbow Honey Summer of 199X collection. Today I will be sharing what Dee calls the "shimmer-dusted cremes" - a perfect way to describe these pretties!

left to right, up to down: Apple Kid, Tessie, Mint Flavor
First up is Mint Flavor, a minty aqua with light blue sparkly shimmer. This is such a pretty color, the one I was most excited from this collection. I had a little trouble with the formula though -- you can tell in my pictures that there were some bubbles, which is a problem I don't often have. I guess with extra-careful application this might be avoidable (and maybe I just needed to get used to the formula), but it was still kind of disappointing. Super pretty shade though!

3 coats Rainbow Honey Mint Flavor
1 coat KB Shimmer Clearly On Top

Tessie is a dusty periwinkle with sparkly purple-blue shimmer. So pretty, and I did not have any application problems with this one, hurray! Alas, it was raining like crazy the day I wore this one, so no sunny shots (actually, you can see some raindrops on my nails apparently, sorry about that - nothing wrong with the polish though). I really love this shade of purple-y blue!

Lastly, Apple Kid is a bright fuschia with bright pink sparkly shimmer. This one looks extra-especially sparkly in the sun! This is two coats here, and while I don't think you can tell in the pictures, it was still a little uneven -- three coats might be best (or maybe just more careful application than me). So pretty!

Overall I was pleased with these shades. I am willing to chalk up the bubbles in Mint Flavor to mostly user error, especially since I didn't have that problem with the other two, but it is still kind of a bummer for such a pretty color. I really love the way all these look though, and really wishing these minis weren't so tiny -- not sure I have enough for another mani each! Love them so much though, might have to get the full-sizes -- I am sure I will be wanting to use these again :)

Look forward to some glitter tomorrow!

Jindie Nails Pickled Tink

Hello hello! Today I have a delightful Jindie Nails pretty to share with you. Pickled Tink is a shimmery sheer hot pink with purple shimmer, small iridescent flakies, silver small and large dots, hearts, and stars. This is pretty much the girliest polish in the world, but somehow, I absolutely love it! Take a look.

1 coat KB Shimmer Clearly On Top

So I have made it known quite frequently, I think, that pink polish isn't necessarily my favorite. But I really love the shimmery quality of this one! I love how the big glitters shine through the sheer base, and how it builds to opacity without losing its juiciness. So pretty!

KB Shimmer Shattered Heart

Hello lovelies! I have had this pretty queued up for so long... I waited for quite a while to even buy it despite loving the color combo, and then I think it was about 6 months before I actually got around to wearing it -- too much polish! (blasphemy, I know) KB Shimmer Shattered Heart is a warm-toned hot neon pink with matte black hearts, bar glitter, and hexes. I wore this matte the entire time, and I love how it showed off the glitter!

3 coats KB Shimmer Shattered Heart
1 coat KB Shimmer Clearly On Top
1 coat OPI Matte Topcoat

In case it doesn't come across, this one is NEON and it doesn't want you to forget it. It really is a crazy bright pink, which I really really love lately (seriously, I hardly want to wear anything that isn't a grade-A retina-burner these days -- to combat the lackluster summer we are having here so far perhaps?) I really love how the base is sheer enough to let the glitters layer through, but still looks so nice and opaque overall. A really great combo and an awesome in-your-face look -- glad I finally tried it!

If you'd like to check out KB Shimmer be sure to visit their store, Etsy, Harlow and Co., or Facebook!

Have a great day! ♥

Whimsical Ideas by Pam I Believe in Fairies

Hey guys! I wore this mani forever ago. It boggles my mind how behind I am on my posts; with part-time nannying, two classes, taking care of my niece this month, not to mention my internship, I think it is safe to say this is the busiest I have ever been in my life. Not to say I don't like it, because it is actually not so bad, if a little exhausting... just not too much time for blogging, alas. I might just post all the swatch shots I have saved up in rapid succession so I can get caught up, which might make it easier to keep up with it -- I hate the idea of dropping it completely (especially since blogging is my main justification for buying all the pretties!)

So anyway... Whimsical Ideas by Pam I Believe in Fairies is, I think, the official very first indie that I ever purchased (I even went back into my emails with Pam to check -- April of last year, well before my first Etsy purchase). I think I saw Seuss, another of Pam's creations in my sister Jenny's blogroll, fell in love with it, and then I guess you can say the rest is history :) (I never have reviewed Seuss despite wearing it tons pre-blog, but here is Jenny's review - borrowing my bottle of course, haha). I Believe in Fairies is a very sheer lavender jelly base with lots of tiny multicolor and holo glitters and stars. Take a look!

On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off base coat
5 coats Whimsical Ideas by Pam I Believe in Fairies
1 coat Cult Nails Wicked Fast

If you actually take a deep look it is a very complex polish, so lovely! Like I said it is crazy sheer, I think this was five coats, but it really is just so pretty layered on coat after coat that I definitely recommend wearing it that way instead of over a base or something. I just love this polish, definitely one of my old favorites :)

Have a wonderful day! ♥

Enchanted Polish May 2013

Hello lovelies! Today I have a special Enchanted Polish pretty to share with you. I am sure many of you are aware of the monthly LEs Chelsea has been doing this year. I have been lucky to snag each of them so far (see my review of January 2013 here!) but for some reason I haven't gotten around to wearing all of them yet (and thus, no posting). That ends here though, with May 2013! This is a lovely medium very warm-toned purple (it almost reads fuchsia at times) with a subtle holo effect. It almost seems to have an underlying pearly quality to it as well, which makes it glow in all lightings -- very interesting to look at, very pretty! Take a look:

1 coat Orly Nail Bonder
3 coats Enchanted Polish May 2013
1 coat KB Shimmer Clearly On Top

Such a pretty shade! I love this kind of warm medium purple the best :) Application was the same as all Enchanted holos; pretty good, great coverage and all, but you need to wait between coats to avoid making streaks. I really love this, so pretty! Can't wait to get around to the rest of those monthly specials so I can share them all with you :)

Enchanted Polish Once Upon a Time

Hello dolls! It has definitely been far too long since I last posted. I have been crazy busy ever since I got back from Hawaii, with officially packing up my apartment and moving home for the summer, some pretty rough summer classes (accounting may be the death of me) and starting my summer internship. I definitely have gotten to the point where I miss blogging though, which is the best reason I can think of to tuck it back into my schedule! :)

Today I have a lovely older Enchanted Polish to share with you. Once Upon a Time has a dusty teal-leaning blue holo base with what looks like purple, pink, green and blue glitter added in. Take a look!

 On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off base coat
3 coats Enchanted Polish Once Upon a Time
1 coat Cult Nails Wicked Fast

It's got the usual, very consistent EP formula, even with the glitter in there. I think the glitter/holo combo is an amazing look -- either in the sun (holo) or in the shade (glitter) there is always something about this polish that will catch your eye! Not to mention the beautiful overall base color, of course. Love, love, love.
