Happy (6th..) of July!

Hello friends! I hope all my American readers had a lovely holiday weekend. I have been so busy with family, fun, and festivities that I didn't get a chance to post my manis -- but better late than never!

At the beginning of the week, when I was first feeling in a 4th-y mood, I did a skittles mani with 2 coats each of Elevation Polish Bohai Sea, a deep sky blue creme holo, Enchanted Polish Stay Classy, San Diego, a pinkish red creme holo, and Lilypad Lacquer In the Milkyway, a whitish creme holo. I then topped it all off with Lumina Lacquer Young Americans 2.0, a red, white and blue glitter bomb! This was super fun - a great way to kick off July!

For the actual day, I wanted to try some fancy firework nail art. I started with Aly's Dream Polish Patriotic Blue, a blue scatter holo with glitter, Colors by Llarowe Bea Stings, a pinky red glittery holo, and China Glaze Glistening Snow, a silver holo microglitter. I then used Bea Stings and Patriotic Blue to paint on a firework design (I used my dotting tool like I do for all nail art, because nail art brushes and I don't really get along very well) and put tiny star rhinestones in the center of each firework. I finally topped everything off with Orly Shine On Crazy Diamond, a silver holo microglitter topcoat.

I really liked both of these manis! The glitter for the first one was the absolute perfect 4th of July glitter, and blended really well with all base colors without clashing or blending in to any of them too much. And I love trying new nail art designs, so the fireworks were really fun, even if they didn't turn out as great as I was hoping they would, lol. But I got lots of compliments on both and I definitely felt patriotic, so mission accomplished!

Happy 4th of July!

Hello, hello, and happy 4th of July to you all! Today I have a pretty patriotic gradient mani to share with you. I struggled a bit with what to do for my nails today (so many options for fun red white and blue nails!) but decided on a gradient with Color Club Miss Bliss, a pink-red holo, Over The Moon, a sky blue holo, and Harp On It!, a silver holo. I then added some extra bling with Wet n Wild Fergie, a mix of pink, silver, blue and purple star glitters. I love the finished look, check it out!

 On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
2 coats Color Club Harp On It!
2 (sponged) coats Color Club Miss Bliss/Harp On It!/Over The Moon
1 (dabbed) coat Wet n Wild Fergie
1 coat KB Shimmer Clearly On Top

Apologies for how messy my cuticles are -- I have a hard time cleaning up gradients still (this is only my second sponging attempt) and I didn't want to try to clean too vigorously and end up messing up the nail. Fergie was hard to work with, kind of -- certainly did not spread across the nail nicely, and I had to place each star on there individually. I didn't really pick it up expecting it to be great in that respect though -- I liked the colors. And those go perfectly with this mani, so I am happy! I like how they are more vibrant and contrast against the pastel-ish holo background. Overall I am very pleased with this attempt at patriotic nail art! :)

Have a wonderful July 4th, wherever you may be! ♥
