KB Shimmer Candy Cane Crush

Hey guys! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas! I was planning on posting yesterday but of course, got a little carried away enjoying time with my family, so I will share with you my Christmas mani today :) I debated for a long time on what I wanted to wear for the actual day of for a long time -- what should the base color be? What kind of glitter? Any poor attempts at nail art? What about accent nails? etc. -- and after much, much deliberation, I settled on KB Shimmer Candy Cane Crush, a mix of white and red hexes in various sizes. My favorite part about this polish, of course, is that it is peppermint-scented! It smells totally wonderful, and it is fairly long-lasting, too-- my nails smelled delicious all through the next day + removal, all the way until I finally put a new polish on. I also put much thought into the perfect base, but ended up with Catherine Arley 800, a bright red (very, very weak) holo. I think they looked quite nicely together, take a look!

On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
2 coats Catherine Arley 800
2 coats KB Shimmer Candy Cane Crush
1 coat Seche Vite
1 coat OPI Topcoat
1 coat Seche Vite

I thought these were just perfect Christmas nails! At first I was a bit bummed that the base color was hardly holo at all, but actually I like the finished look a lot. I don't usually care for this shade of red quite as much, but I guess there is a time and place for every color! It looked - and smelled! - just like a candy cane, and I loved it! :)

That concludes my run of Christmas manis! Even more exhausting than non-stop Halloween, everyday, but way more fun :) I can hardly believe I have painted my nails practically every day for over two months now, crazy! I actually forgot that wasn't my normal mode, I don't know if I will be able to stop, haha. Christmas may be over but I still have lots of wintery (and not, of course) polishes I am excited to share with you guys -- after a short break, maybe, of course :)

Lush Lacquer Tree-mendous

Merry Christmas Eve! :) Today I have a fun Christmas tree mani for you, one that I have been looking forward to wearing all season. Lush Lacquer Tree-mendous is a clear base full of green microglitter, small matte rainbow glitter, and yellow star glitter. I spent quite awhile searching for the perfect base color and ended up on Zoya Holly, a gorgeous shimmery emerald. It really was perfect and looks great with the glitter; take a look!

I love the rainbow glitter in this one; it pops beautifully against the sparkly green. And the sparkly green microglitter adds an extra layer of dimension to the already-lovely Holly. Overall I just adore this mani! Perfect for Christmas Eve :)

Jindie Nails Yule Love This

Hey guys! Today I have for you Jindie Nails Yule Love This, my final holiday milky white base of this season :) It's full of small red/green/gold shiny circle glitters (yay! circle glitters!) as well as red/gold/green/silver/white/blue microglitter, of course in a white milky base. I just love this one! Check it out:

 On my nails:
1 coat Orly Nail Armor
4 coats Jindie Nails Yule Love This
1 coat Seche Vite

I really love the circle glitter (of course) in this one -- very unusual to see for whatever reason, so always fun! Also the addition of gold glitter, as well as some extra microglitter colors, is nice. A bunch of the Christmas milky white base polishes have been just red and green, so I am happy that this one is extra unique. Plus, the base is a flattering shade on me, which is always a bonus! I really loved this one, it is definitely super cute and lots of fun, and very festive!

Enchanted Polish Dance of the Sugar Plum

Hey guys! I have another dazzlingly gorgeous polish from Enchanted Polish's new holiday collection for you today! Dance of the Sugar Plum is a dusty medium purple holo, and it is just as fantastic as I hoped for. If I had to pick my favoritest type of polish in the world, it would probably be purple holos, so of course, I adore this one :) Check it out!

So pretty!! The linear holo is really strong on this one -- rainbows everywhere! Not much else to say; the pictures speak for themselves, I think. I definitely have come to rely on Enchanted Polish for flawless holos with great application and wear! :)

Jindie Nails Just Elfing Around

Hey guys! Today it snowed here for the first time this year, hurray! We've been watching Christmas movies pretty much nonstop and wrapping presents and such -- so excited and it's so close! For my festive mani of today I have on Jindie Nails Just Elfing Around, which is a mix of red and white matte glitters in various shapes/sizes and holo silver/green small/medium hexes in a clear base. I layered it over Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Ivy League, a shimmery bright apple green. Check it out!

3 coats Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Ivy League
2 coats Jindie Nails Just Elfing Around
1 coat OPI Topcoat
1 coat Seche Vite

I am really starting to fall for all these green polishes, I must say... dare I say I think green is becoming one of my favorite polish colors these days? Maybe it's just because I am wearing it so much for Christmas that I'm getting used to it, I guess we'll see! But no matter what this mani is just so shiny and shimmery and sparkly, I don't know how anyone could not adore it! :)

Pop Culture Cosmetics Bah Humbug

Hey guys! Today I have another holiday polish from Pop Culture Cosmetics to share with you. Bah Humbug is a mix of green/red/silver small/medium hexes, some shiny/holo/matte and holo silver microglitter in a black-tinted base. I layered it over a random silver foil polish from American Eagle, I believe -- and would you believe it is actually the only plain silver foil polish I own, despite it being such a staple in so many collections? Anyway, check it out!

On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
3 coats nameless silver from American Eagle
2 coats Pop Culture Cosmetics Bah Humbug
1 coat Seche Vite

First of all, I apologize for all indoor pictures -- we were out and about a lot today, and that combined with bad weather (it's supposed to snow tonight hopefully!) kept me from getting my standard outdoors shots. As for the mani... I can't say I love this one as much as I had hoped I would. I hadn't initially realized the glitter base was tinted black -- very very lightly, but enough that it darkened the silver base somewhat unevenly, which isn't what I expected. I do love the abundance of holo microglitter though -- check out this super dark shot, and how the glitter still shines through:

indoors, artificial lighting

Isn't that lovely? :) I'd say that it probably isn't the fault of the polish for my lack of love for this mani -- it has all the right makings, it just wasn't properly executed. Next time I would use this over a darker color probably, and things would go swimmingly :)

Jindie Nails Noel

Hey guys! Today I have Jindie Nails Noel to share with you. Noel is full of tons of red, green and white matte microglitter as well as some sparkly green microglitter, in a clear base. Since it is so packed with glitter it easily reaches opacity in 2-3 coats, which is always good! It is definitely a Christmas polish -- which is good, since Christmas is a week from today! :) Really cool polish, check it out!

1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
3 coats Jindie Nails Noel
1 coat OPI Topcoat
1 coat Seche Vite

I really love this polish, I think it is super interesting to look at! I have a few polishes like this (full of matte microglitter) in my untrieds but this is the first I've worn, and it's really cool I think. I love how it actually reads a somewhat muted green-gray from a distance -- and then when you get up close you realize it's this mix of crazy awesome colors! I've been looking forward to wearing this for awhile, so I'm thrilled to finally get the chance! I actually ordered it awhile ago, but when I realized it didn't quite make it in my order, Jen was really awesome about getting it to me as quick as possible. I think it is important to share stories like that, because everyone makes mistakes -- but making up for them with awesome customer service is what makes a brand with gorgeous polish even better, in my book! :)

KB Shimmer All Decked Out

Hey guys! Today I have KB Shimmer All Decked Out to show you. I knew I would love this polish to bits as soon as I saw the first preview pictures of it, and I was right! It's a deep dark green jelly base with multi-colored hexes (red/gold/blue/green as far as I remember) and gold stars. It is meant to look like a Christmas tree and I think it totally hits the nail on the head! It's super gorgeous, check it out!

 On the nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
3 coats KB Shimmer All Decked Out
1 coat OPI Topcoat

This one was pretty good at 2 coats but the third added that extra depth. I loved the abundance of star glitters also -- I always notice KB Shimmer is really good about not making me work extra for the fun glitters, which is much appreciated! I wore this out and about today and got several compliments from random people, which I always just love! Super lovely Christmas tree nails :)

Enchanted Polish Bruised Nutcracker

Hey guys! Today I have for you one of the new holiday polishes from Enchanted Polish. Bruised Nutcracker is a gorgeous blue linear holographic -- aka, one of my favorite types of polish ever! :) I love blue holos and this one was no exception. It's a unique shade of blue, too -- seems a bit darker and maybe dustier? than other blue holos I own. It's gorgeous, check it out!

indoors, natural light with low flash
 On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
2 coats Enchanted Polish Bruised Nutcracker

This was super lovely and flawless application -- I would expect nothing less from Enchanted Polish! I wore it for a couple days and was sad to take it off, haha. Can't wait to try out the rest of the holiday collection :)

Lynnderella Season's Glitterings - Elf Love

Hey guys! Today I have another one of the new holiday Lynnderella polishes for you. Elf Love is a pretty mix of lots of matte white glitters in various shapes/sizes (including hearts!) as well as turquoise/pink shiny/holo glitters and microglitter too. I really love white glitter, so I love this polish! I layered it over MmmmNails Candy Burst, a pretty bright pink shimmer. Check it out!

outdoors, mostly overcast
 On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
3 coats MmmmNails Candy Burst
1 coat Lynnderella Elf Love
1 coat OPI Topcoat
1 coat Seche Vite

indoors, near window + flash
I wore this for two days, and during those two days I couldn't really catch the sun too well :( It did peek out around 4:30 today, but alas that is also around the time it goes down these days, so I wouldn't have been able to actually get my nails in the sun unless I climbed a tree or something. Thus, I have lots of lighted pictures, but those are good too :) The bar glitters were a bit annoying in this one, but as I've said before I like bar glitters personally, so I just trimmed 'em, flattened them with topcoat, and that's that. Very pretty polish!

Lynnderella Happy HoloDaze!

Hey guys! I just finished my last final; hurray! One more semester down :) Since I am now officially on winter break I wanted something nice and Christmassy -- and Lynnderella Happy HoloDaze! is one of the most Christmassy polishes I think I've got! I debated for a while on the best way to go, base color-wise, before going with China Glaze Phat Santa, a super shiny red jelly. I ended up doing a sort of jelly sandwich with the two, which is always fun. Check it out!

1 coat China Glaze Phat Santa
1 coat Lynnderella Happy HoloDaze!
1 coat OPI Topcoat
1 coat Seche Vite

This turned out very sparkly and pretty! I originally was just going to stop after 1 coat of glitter, but I sometimes get carried away when playing with glitter :) but after the 2nd coat I didn't like how you couldn't see the base color as well anymore, so that's when I decided to do some extra layering. I really like the effect! Definitely an in-your-face Christmas mani :)

Jindie Nails Grinch

Hey guys! I've got another green mani for you today... I actually used to hate green nail polish to be honest, but look at me, two green manis in a row! This is Jindie Nails Grinch, an awesome lime green base full of tiny and medium-sized red and white matte squares, red and white bars, large white squares, red hearts, and one solitary black heart -- to represent the Grinch's tiny black heart that grew three sizes on Christmas! I just love the idea behind that -- but I actually requested a few more black hearts thrown in so I could wear one each time I wore this polish :) I layered it over Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Green With Envy, a lime green creme. Check it out!

On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
2 coats Sally Hansen Green With Envy
2 coats Jindie Nails Grinch
1 coat OPI Topcoat
1 coat Seche Vite

I love the Grinch movie (both versions) so this is such a fun polish to have in my collection :) It was great to work with; some of the bar glitters were a bit pokey and the hearts were a bit difficult to get out (always harder in a mini, too) but it applied really nicely and lots of glitter in there! Although the pictures read a bit muted, in reality this one is very bright and in your face. Can't wait to wear it out -- I bet this one will grab people's attention!

Lynnderella Season's Glitterings - Elf Assured

Hi guys! Posting may possibly be spotty this week because I've got finals, but I was really excited to share my new holiday Lynnderella polishes with you, so here we go! Today I've got Elf Assured, which is a mix of matte/shiny red, aqua, white, black and pink glitters in various sizes and shapes -- as well as some holo aqua glitters -- with a microshimmery glittery base. I used it over a base of Skin Food BL003, a minty green cream. I thought it went together really well with the aqua glitters :) Check it out!

Very pretty combo -- love the inclusion of the pink glitters! Got to get back to studying now, but hope you like this mani as much as I do!

Jindie Nails Candy Cane

Hey guys! Today I have Jindie Nails Candy Cane for you! Candy Cane is a milky white base with various sizes of red and green hexes (including giant red hexes!) and red/green microglitter. Hurray for another Christmas-themed milky white base! Some might find it silly to have so many, but I just love them to bits :) It is so pretty, too -- check it out!

outdoors, overcast
indoors, natural light (window)
On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
4 coats Jindie Nails Candy Cane
1 coat OPI Topcoat
1 coat Seche Vite

It was a bit more sheer than I was expecting-- the first coat was practically clear -- but it built up well. A little bumpy too, especially when large red hexes (there was an abundance of them) layered over each other, but nothing an extra coat of topcoat couldn't fix. So pretty! The base felt like it leaned a bit warmer, too -- kind of a cream color, so it was very flattering, which is always nice :) Since I have a few other milky white base Christmas polishes I've worn this season I thought I might do a comparison if anyone is interested?

I loved this one to bits when I saw it but didn't order it due to already having a couple Christmas-themed milky white base polishes, so when Jen stuck it in my order anyway to make up for slightly delayed shipping, I was beyond thrilled! Such nice customer service, and such lovely polish-- one of the many things I love about indie polish/blogging :)

Pop Culture Cosmetics Merry Kissmas + Zoya Logan

Hey guys! Today I have an ultra-Christmassy mani for you, hurray! I have been putting the super festive ones off until closer to the big day, but I just couldn't wait any longer :) Pop Culture Cosmetics Merry Kissmas is a mix of green satin hexes/squares/microglitter and shiny red squares/hearts. I layered it over Zoya Logan to keep the mani nice and green -- I think it ended up looking like a Christmas wreath! Check it out:

outdoors, shade
outdoors, sun
 On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
2 coats Zoya Logan
3 coats Pop Culture Cosmetics Merry Kissmas
2 coats OPI Topcoat
1 coat Seche Vite

Now I must admit in full disclosure that this mani was a bit of a process... I unfortunately was unable to get any hearts at all out of Merry Kissmas, which was a bummer as that was my favorite part of the polish. It is sometimes harder to get already-pesky larger glitters out of mini bottles, but I still find it odd when I haven't had much of a problem with this brand like that so far... just lucky this time I guess :) So I pulled some extra red hearts out of another older polish I have, but unfortunately it seems they have lost some pigment, so that was a nuisance also! After some careful dabbing (you can see on my ring finger the silver behind one heart- I tried to cover up one of the glitters that had lost its pigment with another) I ended up with this, which I really do love :) The idea ended up exactly how I wanted and absolutely perfect-- just ran into some bumps in the execution.

A shot of Logan on its own because it is just too beautiful!

KB Shimmer Snow Way!

Hey guys! Today I have for you KB Shimmer Snow Way!, which is a cornflower blue base full of white matte medium/small/micro glitters, as well as some hidden iridescent microglitter. Super, super pretty! I first tried it by itself but I found that two coats was a bit patchy but three was a bit lumpy, so I layered it over Hard Candy Sky to solve that problem. Sky is much lighter than Snow Way and doesn't show up in the final mani at all, but it did help me reach opacity/avoid patches, which is what I was going for. Check it out!

outdoors, sun
outdoors, shade
On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
2 coats Hard Candy Sky
2 coats KB Shimmer Snow Way!
1 coat Seche Vite

This mani was super pretty! The white glitters from the bottom layer really create a very magical, very snowy look, which I think is awesome. It was mostly flat with two coats (like I said, there was a bit too much glitter clumping together with three coats, which made it a little lumpy) although after I took these pictures I ended up adding one more coat of topcoat to tame a few unruly glitters. No big deal, though -- this color is so pretty~ I love this shade of blue :)
