Emily de Molly Abstract Canvas

Hello all! I have a gorgeous little polish I have been after for a long time on my blog today. I loved Emily de Molly Abstract Canvas as soon as I saw it - hello, is it any surprise I like rainbow glitter? But the matte rainbow glitter, mixed with the black hexes and large circles is just a perfect striking combo in my book. To make each glitter pop I layered it over butter LONDON Cotton Buds, a white creme (my new favorite white creme!) I love love love this mani, take a look!

2 coats butter LONDON Cotton Buds

1 coat HK Girl Topcoat

So pretty! I just love those big black circle glitters, they help to make this mani so interesting looking. I wore this one for several days (which is unheard of from me, as I often change my mani multiple times a day...) really loved it! Glad to have this long-time lemming resolved :)

Jindie Nails Olive You & Polo

Hello hello! I have loved Jindie Nails holos ever since I tried out my first two from last year's Christmas collection, so I was thrilled when I saw Jen was coming out with a couple new ones! They are both fabulous, take a look:

left to right: Polo, Olive You

Olive You is a light olive green holo with gold microglitter. I love this one! I didn't notice the gold microglitter at first, but it is definitely a lovely unique touch! I am a sucker for light green holos, so this fits the bill nicely.

Cupcake Polish American Beauty Collection Swatches and Review

Hello! I have a few gorgeous holos from Cupcake Polish to share with you today! They are part of her new American Beauty collection - each polish is a fantastic linear holo named after one of America's greatest cities! These are gorgeous and were a lot of fun to play with - take a look!

left to right, up to down: Los Angeles, Denver, Miami
Los Angeles is a hot pink holo. I think it is a little more warm-leaning than the pictures show. I always love a good pink holo! The holo effect is super strong also, love it!

1 coat KB Shimmer Clearly On Top

Miami is a burnt orange holo. Reminds me of pumpkins, perfect for fall!

Denver is a lime green holo. Love this! It reminds me of one of my favorite polishes of all time, Milani Hi-Tech, except for linear and way more holo - aka, amazing!

On my nails:
1 coat Nfu Oh Aqua Base coat
2 coats Cupcake Polish Denver
1 coat KB Shimmer Clearly On Top

Application was pretty good on these! I don't think a special base coat is necessary, and they were pretty crazy holo even with topcoat on. I do recommend waiting a couple minutes between coats to prevent possible dragging/bald spots. Sara, the creator cautioned that the intensity of the pigments may cause some staining. To test this I sacrificed my nails and went base coat-less for several hours with Los Angeles, but I didn't notice and lasting staining (of course my nails are permanently stained, so maybe I just couldn't tell?) I wore Denver for several hours with a base coat and didn't notice an issue there either. Still, can't hurt to throw a base coat on underneath these for the extra peace of mind!

Obviously, these are insanely holo and really pretty, and I loved all of three of them! They will be available for purchase very soon; be sure to check out Sara's Bigcartel site and Facebook for more info~

Have a fantabulous day! ♥

Candy Lacquer Birthday Girl

Hello lovelies! Short post tonight (this week has been crazy busy and exhausting) but I wanted to share with you guys a fun mani I wore a few days ago. Saturday was my birthday (yay!) and what better polish to wear for the occasion than Candy Lacquer Birthday Girl? Birthday Girl is a clear base with various pink hexes in different shades and sizes, as well as several other colors including yellow, green, blue and purple, and hot pink stars and butterflies. I layered it over butter LONDON Cotton Buds, a white creme. Take a look!

On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
3 coats butter LONDON Cotton Buds
2 coats Candy Lacquer Birthday Girl
1 coat Seche Vite

So perfect! Super fun, festive, and girly (fitting for me, as I spent the majority of my birthday wearing a sparkly pink tiara - yes, I turned 21, not 5). Love love love!

Also, might I just note that this is my 200th post, hurray! That milestone, along with my birthday and my recent 1-year bloggiversary, spells big news giveaway-wise. Just wait until I have a minute to actually put it all together - you won't want to miss it!

You can find Candy Lacquer at their Etsy shop, Bigcartel store, and Facebook~

Girly Bits Hot Shot

Hello again! This will be my last post for the night, I promise :) Girly Bits Hot Shot is a medium pink holo. Super pretty, take a look!

On my nails:
1 coat Orly Nail Defense
3 coats Girly Bits Hot Shot
1 coat HK Girl Topcoat

I have been wanting this one for awhile, so I am glad I finally got the chance to try it out! The holo is pretty subtle, but it's such a pretty soft color that I think the subtle holo suits it. Reminds me of strawberry ice cream :)

For the last time, have a lovely day! ♥

Go Wildcats! Game Day Nails

Hello hello! Second post of the night - I am in a productive mood so hopefully not the last :)

So it's college football season yet again! I went to a K-State football game last weekend, and couldn't pass up the opportunity for some fun mascot nail art. I started out with I Love Nail Polish Amanda Hugginkiss, a purple holo. I then did a leopard print (go Wildcats!) with Color Club Beyond and Harp On It!, respectively a black and silver holo. For my accent nail I started with Harp On It! and then did painstakingly drew on the K-State Powercat logo in Beyond and Amanda Hugginkiss. I was not expecting it to turn out as nicely as it did, take a look!

(with dotting tool)  Color Club Harp On It! and Beyond, and I Love Nail Polish Amanda Hugginkiss

Like I said, I love how this turned out! I was really worried about the accent nail art, since I just don't do it much and don't have very much practice. I think it looks great though! My right hand's accent didn't fair quite as well, but... no one cares about that one anyway, haha.

Definitely looking forward to more game day nail art designs this fall! Excited to see what I will come up with :)

Chirality Nail Polish Quarks

Hi guys! I am going to try and get several posts out tonight. I have a lot to share with you and and if I waited to post one a day they just never would get posted... and that would be a tragedy! haha. I didn't really want to do just one giant spam post, so look forward to a bunch of pretties tonight!

Also... I missed posting (been busy and sick, boo) but Saturday was my 1-year bloggiversary! :D Needless to say, there is a celebration in store, and it's not one you will want to miss... stay tuned!

So the first polish up tonight is Chirality Nail Polish Quarks. Quarks is a lovely indigo blue scatter holo. Holos never need much of an intro; take a look!

No application issues here, it applied great! I just love this color! It has a dusty quality to it over some other dark blue holos I've got, and leans purple just a little bit. The rainbow it gives off in the sunlight is kind of pastel, super pretty!

Classic Films Nail Lacquer Swatches and Review

Hello lovelies! Today I have several pretties from a new-to-me indie brand on the blog! Classic Films Nail Lacquer is a fairly new Etsy shop that opened up this summer, and I was lucky enough to receive seven polishes to share with you guys!

left to right, up to down: Spellbound, Sunset Boulevard, They Live By Night,
Lured, Impact, D.O.A., Lady of the Lake

Lured is a shimmery olive green base full of sky blue and gold hexes, squares, and microglitter. I layered it over China Glaze Rare & Radiant, a gold/green duochrome. This combo is perfect I think, so if you have R&R or any of the other Chanel Peridot dupes, definitely try this pairing out! Application was lovely, really easy to spread across the nail, and I love the color combo.

On my nails:
2 coats China Glaze Rare & Radiant
1 coat Classic Films Lacquer Lured
1 coat HK Girl Top Coat

They Live By Night is a blue-tinted base full of sapphire blue microglitter, and silver small hexes, moons and stars. I layered it over Color Club Blue-topia, a dark blue jelly. Application was great here as well, didn't even have trouble getting the fun glitters out. This was so pretty and sparkly! I am always a sucker for "night-sky" type glitter polishes, so this was a favorite of mine from the start :)

On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
2 coats Color Club Blue-topia
1 coat Classic Films Nail Lacquer They Live By Night
1 coat HK Girl Topcoat

Lady of the Lake is a periwinkle blue base with an aqua shimmer and full of baby-pink microglitter and small hexes. I layered it over Essie Smooth Sailing, a periwinkle blue with silver shimmer. Again, application was fantastic, no issues at all. I really like the aqua shimmer here, it was totally unexpected and a really nice surprise when I stepped out into the sun!

Impact is a shimmery white base base with pink and red small shards/hexes and black bars/diamonds/circles. I layered it over OPI My Vampire Is Buff, a white creme. Application was a little tougher here than the others, in that it was hard to snag the circle glitters on the brush (and to a lesser extent the diamond glitters as well). Still not that bad, not much fishing was done for what you see here, and I think it turned out pretty good! I really like how sparkly the base is also.

On my nails:
3 coats OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls
2 coats Classic Films Nail Lacquer Impact

D.O.A. is a gray base full of satiny lavender, pink and pale green hexes, iridescent shimmery microglitters and tiny holo bars. I layered it over China Glaze Sea Spray, pale gray-blue creme. No issues with application here either! This one is super subtle; I like how there is actually quite a bit going on but it all blends so well together to create such a classy look.

Sunset Boulevard is a clear base full of gold and brown hexes, tons of holo gold microshimmery glitter, and the occasional lavender hex as well. I layered it over China Glaze I Herd That, a coppery gold glitter. Again, application was great. I love this one so, so much! The warm cast to the gold makes it really flattering - I don't care much for yellow, almost green-leaning golds, but this one is right up my alley. I especially like the sparks of purple, which make it really special. And this one is so sparkly too! Definitely one of my favorites.

On my nails:

Lastly, Spellbound is a shimmery pink base full of various satin light pink and yellow hexes, iridescent shards, and red hearts. I layered it over Carpe Noctem Cosmetics Fae, a shimmery fuschia. I had the slightest trouble getting glitter on the brush, but it wasn't that tough - and other than that no issues. This is a super pretty color, and I love how the glitters blend together with the base.

1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
2 coats Carpe Noctem Cosmetics Fae

So I layered all of them over matching base colors initially, but as I was applying I noticed some of them seemed like they would have no trouble reaching opacity, so I thought it would be helpful to all to check how they looked on their own! They all ended up with decent coverage, some more sheer than others but it's really up to how you feel about sheer polish in the end. Below you will find skittle swatches, all at 3 coats each:

And there you have it! I was incredibly impressed with these pretties from Classic Films; with each and every one of them I was just the teensiest touch sad every time I had to take them off. Application was great and the color combos were all super sparkly and beautiful. I have been taking a bit of a glitter break recently (kind of been all holo, all the time) but these definitely rekindled my life for all things sparkly :)

Have a great day! ♥
