Whooz Polish (Not So) Innocent

Hey guys! Today I have the last of my lovely Whooz Polish to share with you. (Not So) Innocent is a milky white base with pastel satin pink, purple, yellow, and mint hexes and small squares. It has a delicate, almost ethereal look to it, and I love it! It was another very sheer one, so I layered it over Essie Marshmallow, a sheer white, to help with opacity. Check it out!

On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
1 coat Essie Marshmallow
4 coats Whooz Polish (Not So) Innocent
1 coat Seche Vite

I was slightly better prepared for the sheerness today :) Marshmallow was just the ticket for adding a little extra opacity without ruining the delicate, squishy look to this polish, which I just love. I think it is simultaneously a little ghostly and a little like an Easter egg -- either way, really lovely to look at!

I really loved all three of the Whooz Polish polishes I got to try out -- they might have been a little sheer but they all were very complex and pretty and applied like a dream! Doesn't get much better than that :) I definitely hope to try more someday!

Whooz Polish Nerdy Girl

Hey guys! Today I have another darling Whooz Polish to share with you. Nerdy Girl is a delicate sheer gray jelly full of satin-finish hot pink, light pink, white, and black small/medium hexes/squares, blue/purple iridescent glitters, small holo hot pink hexes, and light pink microglitter. Wow! I have to say I had a hard time picking out all the different types of glitter and am not sure if I did it justice, but I really love the complexity! This one was really really sheer but built up pretty well, with that layered jelly look I love so much :) Check it out!

 On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
5 coats Whooz Polish Nerdy Girl
1 coat Seche Vite

So 5 coats... as I said, it was really sheer. Very lovely though! A smarter person than I would probably have put this over a nice warm gray base color when she realized how sheer it was, but oh well :) The upside of course is that all those coats create amazing depth! I love how much glitter you can see poking out from the lower layers, it's incredibly pretty. That being said, 5 coats is 1 or 2 coats past my usual limit for not using a base, and I used up way more of this adorable mini than I would have liked... so I do recommend either going for the sheer look (2-3 coats would have been quite nice if my nails weren't so stained, but there was definitely VNL) or using a base color for this. So pretty though, any and all effort is worth it! I got lots of compliments on this mani today, which always puts a smile on my face :)

finger is oddly wrinkly here but the glitter showed up great!

Whooz Polish Pink Pirate + L'Oreal The Queen's Ambition

Hi guys! Before I get on with the polish for today I wanted to just take a second to see if anyone might have noticed anything different about my blog... like maybe the URL? :) If you haven't already seen it, paint the rainbows has recently moved to painttherainbows.com! My sister Jenny and brother-in-law Dan were nice enough to register the name for me for Christmas, which I am super excited about! One step in the right direction for my humble little blog -- hopefully the first of many great things to happen around here in 2013! Thanks again, guys, I love it :)

Today I have a new indie brand to share with you called Whooz Polish. I have seen them around on Etsy for a bit and thought they had such cute polishes - and labels! - and was super excited to get to review a few of their polishes, which I will be showing over the next few days :) Today's mani showcases Pink Pirate, which is a clear base full of light pink, white, and black small hexes, hot pink small squares, white and light pink microglitter, and medium white hexes and squares. I always have had a weakness for this mix of colors, so it is no surprise to me that I totally adore this polish :) I layered it over L'Oreal The Queen's Ambition, a black jelly with silver microglitter that is probably my new favoritest black polish (well, beyond black holos anyway). It reminds me of that absurdly expensive black diamond polish that people were talking about a while back... except not $250k, of course, haha. I really love how the silver microglitter played with Pink Pirate to create amazing depth! Check it out:

2 coats L'Oreal The Queen's Ambition
2 coats Whooz Polish Pink Pirate
1 coat Seche Vite

I was really pleased with Pink Pirate's application. The glitter went on really smoothly and spread perfectly evenly over the nail exactly the way I wanted to; no curling; and nice and smooth with just one coat of SV. I really like the way the colors go together, and the added depth of the abundant microglitter. Overall very happy with my first Whooz Polish experience and looking forward to trying out some more! :)
