3 coats OPI Get Your Number

2 coats OPI Topcoat
1 coat Seche Vite
I wore it without topcoat for one day, and I'm currently wearing it with. It did take a bit of time to get fully dry, but it as bad as I was thinking it might be -- although I did mess up my thumb and have to do a bit of touch-up about half an hour after I was done, but I was trying to pick a dot of polish off my cuticle, so that was really my fault anyway -- wait longer for that, haha. Unfortunately I did get a chip on my left ring finger last night out at dinner, but I guess it is to be expected that a chunky glitter without topcoat will chip pretty quickly -- and it was pretty easy to touch up as well.
I was pretty sure it would take a lot of topcoat to gloss this polish over, and I was right -- it wasn't fully glassy til all 3 coats, and even now it is not 100% smooth to the touch, although it does look perfectly smooth. However, I must say that while I traditionally go gaga over glassy sparkly nails, I actually prefer it without topcoat! It is a really interesting, cool look, and I love the way it literally does look like holographic bright blue sand encrusted on my nails :) I was originally only planning on getting this polish from the new collection but I have to say I am now chomping at the bit to try out the rest of the Liquid Sand polishes as soon as possible!
indoors, natural light -- blurry but look how sparkly! |
