Me.Lissa Lacquer Swatches & Review

Hello all! I've got another cool Etsy brand to share with you today! Me.Lissa Lacquer has a nice variety of glitters and crellies, and I have three pretty glitters on the blog today.

left to right, up to down: Set My Heart Aflame, Ain't No Party Like a Gatsby
Party, Beautiful Little Fool

Beautiful Little Fool is a clear base with mostly small baby pink and white hexes, some darker pink holo hexes, and a smattering of yellow, blue, and iridescent glitters as well. I layered it over OPI What's With the Cattitude, a baby blue creme. It applied nicely enough but I didn't get a whole lot of glitter in each coat, so it would probably help to layer a couple coats to get a desirable glittery effect. Overall the glitter has a very pastel, spring-y vibe, very girly!

On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
3 coats OPI What's with the Cattitude
3 coats Me.Lissa Lacquer Beautiful Little Fools
1 coat HK Girl Topcoat

Ain't No Party Like a Gatsby Party is a clear base full of silver, gold and black hexes and bars and silver microglitter as well. I layered this one over Zoya Kelly, a dark gray creme. This one was much thicker than Beautiful Little Fool; the first coat was chock-full of glitter but still applied very nicely over the nail. I love this glitter! It totally reminds me of New Year's Eve. And I love the inspiration - hands-down my favorite book I read in school! (Can't believe I haven't seen the new movie yet.)

Lastly, Set My Heart Aflame is a clear base with assorts small red, yellow and pink glitters, red, yellow and black microglitter, and red hearts. I layered it over OPI Suzi's Hungary Again!, a hot pink creme. This one was in between the other two as far as glitter payoff; one coat would be adequate, but I went with two for just a little more glitter on the nail. As one would expect, I had to fish for the hearts, but it wasn't actually too bad, since I was able to snag enough for one for each nail. I really like this one, it reminds me of Valentine's Day a bit but really, with the yellow thrown in there, the KC Chiefs! And I think it looks nice over the hot pink - very bright and pretty.

Overall, I really enjoyed these polishes from Me.Lissa Lacquer! The glitters had nice color combos, with great formula and application. And gotta love a Gatsby polish! :)

Lacquer Queen Polish Fatal Fame

Hi guys! Today I have a gorgeous holo from a new Etsy brand on the blog. Lacquer Queen Polish has a shop stocked full of awesome holos (both linear and thermal!) and I have several I was sent to share with you that I will be posting. Today I have Fatal Fame, a pale lilac linear holo with a strong blue shift. This polish is so lovely, take a look!

On my nails:
3 coats Lacquer Queen Fatal Fame
1 coat HK Girl Topcoat

Application was good, obviously no special base coat was needed and I don't think topcoat affected the holo effect at all. I think two coats would have been just fine even though I did three - didn't notice any difference between the second and third coat. I love this polish! The base color is pretty enough, a delicate light purple holo (purple holos being my #1 favorite type of polish ever, of course) but then add in the super noticeable, really strong blue shift and you've got a really cool unique polish on your hands (pun intended)! Definitely looking forward to more holos from Lacquer Queen :)

Lilypad Lacquer Ruby Slippers

Hello! Today I am very excited to share my very first Lilypad Lacquer with you guys! Lilypad Lacquer is a wonderful store headed up by the lovely Nicole, and carries an extensive line of holos in a wide variety of gorgeous colors. Today, I have Ruby Slippers, a beautiful pinkish red holo that is totally stunning! I have no other words - take a look!

2 coats Lilypad Lacquer Ruby Slippers
1 coat HK Girl Topcoat

So pretty! I must confess I am still not a huge fan of red polishes, they are very hit and miss for me - but this is gorgeous! I really love the holo effect, it is so strong and mesmerizing; it's hard to look away from this beauty! Application was really wonderful too, it was almost fully opaque in just 1 coat. I was incredibly impressed with Ruby Slippers - can't wait to try more Lilypads! And luckily, even though they are located in Australia, they ship internationally - so it won't be long before I have more on the blog :)

outdoors, overcast - holo still shines through in low light!

Nire's Desire Polish Swatches & Review

Hey guys! I have another cool new indie brand to share with you! Nire's Desire Polish is a new store on Etsy that has a great variety of beautiful and unique shimmer polishes, and I have five to show off today!

up to down, left to right: Ice Hole, Tropical Delusion, Plum Crazy,
Milfred, Moonbeams on Moss
Ice Hole is an icy pale blue shimmer. I really love this one, such a gorgeous shade of icy light blue! The shimmer is really strong as well. It was a little sheer, but built up quite well in three coats and applied pretty nicely. Also, even though it is a touch frosty it wasn't really that streaky.

Milfred (read: MILF red, haha) is a fiery warm-toned red shimmer. This one went on great in two coats. Great red color! (and love the name).

Moonbeams on Moss is a shimmery greenish blue with a strong gold flash. This one had great formula as well, went on perfectly in just two coats. I love how strong the shimmer in this is, so beautiful!

Plum Crazy is a dark plum purple shimmer. I love that this one actually has tiny red and blue sparkles in it (you can see them quite easily if you zoom in on the sunny picture), so complex and beautiful! This one was like the others, good in two easy coats.

Lastly, Tropical Delusion is a bright blue shimmer with pink sparkly shimmer. So pretty, I love how vibrant this is! It was impossible to get the pink sparkle to show up in good pictures, so please excuse the rather ugly photo at the end - I wanted to show you guys, haha. So pretty! Another two-coater.

Enchanted Polish June 2013, July 2013, & *69

Hi guys! Today I have three very new Enchanted Polish pretties to share with you. I usually post my EPs separately, but as much as I adore them, I don't want to totally overrun my blog with nothing but Enchanteds - so today you can enjoy three in one post!

left to right, up to down: *69, June 2013, July 2013

*69 is a clear base with neon yellow and hot pink assorted hexes, squares, and stars and a strong pink shimmer. I layered it over Lime Crime Parfait Day, a pastel pink creme. This polish was actually released as an unannounced flash sale on the main EP site -- it went crazy quick, and I was very lucky to be in the right place at the right time! I really like this, I think the glitters look great together and I really like it over the light pink base.

On my nails:
1 coat Innisfree Eco Peel-off Base coat
2 coats Lime Crime Parfait Day
1 coat Enchanted Polish *69
1 coat HK Girl Topcoat

July 2013 is a blue-leaning minty green holo with a pink shimmer. Very pretty! I did not find it to lobster-fy my hands at all, which is of course always nice with greens like this. The pink shimmer was impossible  to capture but fairly easy to pick up on in the right lighting in person - please excuse the garbage picture I included, had to try to show you guys the shimmer, haha.

indoors, natural light - blurry, but you can kind of see the pink
around the reflection of the lights and in the bottle
On my nails:
2 coats Enchanted Polish July 2013
1 coat HK Girl Topcoat

Lastly, June 2013 is a coral-ly pink holo with pink shimmer. I love how this one comes to life in the sunlight, it really brings out the coral side which brightens it up a lot. Plus this one is very holo, which is always great :)

Polishnv Swatches & Review

Hey guys! I have an awesome new indie brand on the blog today! Polishnv (Polish Envy?) is a newer Etsy store with a great mix of glitter and holo polishes, and I have three of the pretties to share with you.

left to right, up to down: Purple Haze, Crush Hour, Pink Flamingo

Crush Hour is a clear base full of red, orange, yellow, and blue hexes, purple holo shards, and sparse iridescent purple microglitter.I layered it over Lime Crime Lavendairy, a pastel lavender creme. Application was quite nice, there was a good amount of glitter and it spread on pretty easily across the nail. I really like this color mix, also! It seems citrus-y or tropical somehow to me, and the dash of holo mixed with mostly matte glitter is nice.

On my nails:
2 coats Lime Crime Lavendairy
1 coat Polishnv Crush Hour
1 coat HK Girl Topcoat

Pink Flamingo is a reddish pink holo. The official listing calls this magenta (and of course there is the title, haha) but I think this looks more red than pink personally - the first coat is definitely pink but not fully opaque, and the second coat builds it perfectly to a reddish pink. Regardless, this is a gorgeous color, and application was lovely!

 On my nails:
1 coat Orly Nail Defense
2 coats Polishnv Pink Flamingo
1 coat HK Girl Topcoat

Purple Haze is a blue-leaning purple holo. I love this color so much! It actually reminds me of OPI DS Glamour a touch, like it's lighter, more purple cousin, but the color is in a similar family as well as similarly very vibrant. This one was more sheer than Pink Flamingo, I needed four coats for this opacity, but it still built nicely and application was easy. So pretty!

On my nails:
1 coat Orly Defense
4 coats Polishnv Purple Haze
1 coat HK Girl Topcoat

Overall I was definitely very pleased with Polishnv! The holos were fantastic in particular, very vibrant and colorful, with really strong holo effects. I hope they continue to add more colors to their holo line - if they do I definitely won't be able to stay away! :)

Enchanted Polish Up In Smoke

Hi guys! I have a very special Enchanted Polish to share with you today! Up In Smoke was a super-LE polish released exclusively at Mei Mei's Signatures for Mei Mei's birthday celebration. It's a dusty silvery purple holo, and it is so lovely! Take a look~

On my nails:
1 coat Orly Nail Defense
2 coats Enchanted Polish Up In Smoke

So so pretty! I love this shade of dusty purple so much :) It is very holo, also -- more so than EPs usually are, which I love! Obtaining this polish was pretty stressful (as all EP restocks are) but it was definitely worth it :)
